As an active resident of Williamson County for almost 20 years, Cherie Hammond has freely given of her time, talents and energy to help better her community. A CPA by trade with degrees in both accounting and finance, Cherie began her business career with Ernst & Whinney, before working for a number of other blue-chip companies, including HealthAmerica, Jacques-Miller, Berol Corporation and Publishing Group of America. When the much hoped for opportunity arose to be a stay-at-home mom in the mid 1990’s, Cherie jumped at the chance not only to be with her three children more, but also to begin extensive community and philanthropic efforts that continue today. Her commitment to Williamson County is reflected by Cherie’s service first as a lead organizer for the launch of Kenrose Elementary and Ravenwood High school. She subsequently served for ten years on the PTO Board of Ravenwood, with four years as President, and then as the County-wide PTO Leadership Chair for all of Williamson County. In 2013 Cherie was appointed to serve as a Williamson County School Board member which was followed by a run for the TN State House of Representatives in 2014. Currently, Cherie is owner of Cherie Hammond Consulting, LLC, Chairman of Williamson Business PAC, Board member of both Williamson Inc. and Maryland Farms YMCA, member of Brentwood Morning Rotary and Chair of the “Heroes in Heels” Fashion Show benefitting the Y’s “After Breast Cancer” program. She has also been a radio personality in Williamson County, co-hosting twice a month with Tom Lawrence on the “WAKM Radio Roundtable.” And now, Cherie is an upcoming participant in “Dancing With The Nashville Stars” to help support Feed America First and strive for a #HungerFreeTN. Cherie and her husband, Dan, a successful media entrepreneur, elite-world athlete and fellow philanthropist, have been married since 1983 and reside in Brentwood, TN.
