Marcy Shelton: Secretary

Marcy Shelton was born in Coffee County and graduated from Tullahoma High School. She attended the University of TN at Knoxville where she achieved a BA in English with high honors. She is a 1990 graduate of the University Tennessee College of Law where she was a member of the Tennessee Law Review. Marcy’s legal practice focuses on real estate and banking. Currently, she is of counsel with the Nashville office of Reno & Cavanaugh, PLLC, a Washington D.C. firm a transactional law firm which represents developers and housing authorities in affordable housing developments around the country.



She is licensed to practice in all state courts and United States Courts in the Sixth Circuit and has been named one of Nashville’s Top Real Estate and Banking Lawyers by The Tennessean, enjoys a AV Peer Review Rating with Martindale-Hubbell and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Banking and Finance Law and Real Estate Law since 2012.

Marcy was the first woman to serve as president of the Franklin Rotary Club, where she was named Rotarian of the Year, has been a member of the Brentwood Rotary Club at Noon and is a Paul Harris Fellow three times over. She has served on the following boards: Downtown Franklin Association, Williamson County Prevention of Child Abuse, and Historic Rugby, Inc. and is a past delegate to the Tennessee House of Representatives for the 21st Judicial District. Marcy has resided in Brentwood since 1993 and is married to Ed Schell, who is a lawyer in Franklin. Their children all attended and graduated from Williamson County Schools and two have since graduated from state SEC universities. Currently, the youngest is a sophomore at the University of Tennessee and their daughter attends UT College of Medicine in Memphis.
